Devens had all the power to control the outcome and yet he still made what I think is categorically the wrong move here. But it’s like Devens often admits, he’s not a master strategist, he just likes to make things happen. Well, fair enough in this case.

After debating for days whether to save Melody (smart move) or Lyric (not-so smart move) Devens settled on taking Lyric off the Block in his renoms plan for Rome. Now Rome is on the Block against Jason and Melody where he can campaign against both, something he wouldn’t have done with Lyric still up there against him. Nor would he have Lyric’s vote on Thursday night. Blerg.

Will it save Rome to have Lyric down? No, but is it unnecessarily more complicated? Yep. The real threat to Devens’s plan at this point is the Block Buster which could save ol’ Rome and then that puts us with either Melody or Jason out the door. It’d be Jason in that situation, but anything is possible.
