Devens Made A Stunning Sacrifice! He Turned Down A Superman Movie Because Competing On Big Brother 28 Meant More To Him

Big Brother 28 features Survivor alum Rick Devens, but he had to turn down another opportunity to live in the house.
It turns out that Devens was invited to be in the new (upcoming) Superman movie, but he had to turn it down to play Big Brother.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow is in production, with David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
This is the second Superman movie since James Gunn took over the DC Universe. The film will release in theaters during Summer 2027.
James Gunn confirms Rick Devens was in Man of Tomorrow
During the recent eviction episode of Big Brother 28, Devens gave a shoutout to Director James Gunn. It was a blink-and-you-might-miss-it moment as Devens was finishing up his vote for Ashley.
Previously, we have seen James Gunn on Big Brother: Unlocked, where he spoke about his love for reality TV. It was a great episode.
âThanks to the shoutout from my friend @rick_devens on @bigbrothercbs,â James Gunn posted on Threads.
It led to some questions from fans.
âDo yâall really know each other or is he just kissing up?â someone asked.
âWe do. He was gonna appear in the background of MoT but he had to cancel (his awesome wife and kids still came). He couldnât tell me why but told me Iâd be excited. Obviously I was!â Gunn wrote.
Gunn spoke about how it was a cameo in his new movie, something Mike White has become known for on his show, The White Lotus.
It sounds like it would have been really fun for Devens. But now he has his eye on winning the $750,000 prize from Big Brother instead.
âIf you still on defense about how cool Devens is. Superman!!! #BB28,â a fan wrote on X.
They shared some screenshots from Gunnâs posts. Maybe Gunn can still find a way to get Devens in there once the Big Brother season has ended. But if he keeps doing well in the game, he wonât leave until early fall.
