He noted that he initially moved in with his parents because he felt that they would help him financially, and he would save on rent. As Sumit was unemployed, he had no other option and decided to move in with his parents.
Sumit revealed that his family did support him for a few initial months. But something happened to them, and they stopped doing it. As Sumit didn’t have a job, he had to take a loan just to manage the financial aspect. Hence, he confessed to taking loans totaling between $15,000 and $20,000. As per Sumit, he took loans because he had to pay rent despite living with his parents, and this is exactly what Jenny is not able to understand.
Jenny told Dr. Tyrone K. Grandison that she couldn’t do the math to show how living with Sumit’s parents was actually helping them. She simply couldn’t understand why she was living with her in-laws when they still had to pay rent.
