Big Brother Producers Allegedly Favor Three Houseguests As Executives Credit Them For The Show’s Explosive Ratings Success
THREE Big Brother contestants have taken Season 28 by storm since its premiere and now, The U.S. Sun has learned that their dominating performances aren’t exactly a coincidence.
Big Brother producers are celebrating one of the show’s biggest successes in years, with insiders crediting a trio of reality TV veterans for helping breathe new life into the long-running CBS competition.
Producers believe the cast has been the driving force behind the show’s success this year – particularly Survivor legends Rick Devens and Dee Valladares, along with controversial Big Brother alum Angela Murray, a source explained to The U.S. Sun.
“They credit the ratings to a number of factors, the cast being the biggest one. And in particular, the reality TV veterans,” the insider claimed.
“They knew bringing in two popular Survivor players and one of the most controversial Big Brother alums would stir up chatter, but it’s gotten the engagement back tenfold.”
The source went on to allege that while production cannot directly interfere with the competition, there are certain “loopholes” that they believe have benefited the returning reality stars.
“Producers cannot mess with the game or impact the outcome, but there are ways they are able to favor the reality TV vets,” the insider claimed.
“Like determining the speed of the spinning chair when Devens won the Diamond Power of Veto or turning a blind eye when Dee ate real food when she was a Have-Not.
“Production sees everything, so if they don’t act on something, it’s a choice.”
The choice is paying off – as Season 28 has delivered the best ratings Big Brother has seen in nearly a decade.
The source gushed that CBS executives are “over the moon” with Season 28’s performance, adding: “The ratings are killing it but not just the ratings, the engagement this season has been unprecedented.
“The amount of people voting for the Time Capsule, the amount of comments and participation from the audience is nearing when the show was at its peak.
“Definitely the highest performing season overall since before the pandemic. A seven-year high. Producers and execs are over the moon.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to CBS for comment.
The comments come after Dee found herself at the center of fan backlash last week when viewers accused her of breaking one of the game’s most sacred rules.
The Survivor 45 winner was seen eating snacks that belonged to fellow houseguest Kamu Kirk despite being restricted to the standard Have-Not diet of slop and approved cold foods.
Fans flooded social media demanding consequences, with many arguing she should have received a penalty after the apparent rule violation.
Despite the controversy, Dee was not punished and has remained one of the season’s most prominent personalities – regularly dominating episodes alongside Rick and Angela.
Rick’s power in the house only grew this week when he was given the Diamond Power of Veto – an extraordinary advantage that allows him to remove someone from the chopping block and replace them with a person of his choosing.
The power is good to use for six weeks – an unprecedentedly long time for an advantage to be activated for.
The trio have consistently received the most extensive airtime this season as their strategic gameplay, rivalries and alliances continue driving many of the show’s biggest storylines.
Unlike most of the cast, all three entered the house with years of reality TV experience already under their belts.
Rick first became a fan favorite during Survivor: Edge of Extinction, earning a reputation for flashy idol plays, challenge wins and entertaining confessionals.
His fame skyrocketed when he was cast on Survivor 50 earlier this year and locked down one of the season’s most iconic moments when he doubled the $1 million prize pot to a whopping $2 million in the Mr. Beast coin flip.
Dee won Survivor 45 after a dominant strategic and social game, making her one of the franchise’s most respected recent champions.
Angela, meanwhile, returned to television after becoming one of the most polarizing personalities in recent Big Brother history, with her unpredictable gameplay, sassy one liners, and emotional confrontations making her an instant talking point among fans.
Their familiarity with the pressures of reality competition has often given them an advantage over first-time players – allowing them to navigate alliances, manage public perception and perform under pressure with more confidence than their fellow houseguests.
Big Brother airs on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS with livefeeds running 24/7 on Paramount+, YouTube, and PlutoTV.
