The Secret Is Out! Big Brother Houseguests Have Officially Been Informed About ‘The Lettuce,’ And Their Reactions Were Priceless

“Big Brother 28” is well underway, and the show prides itself on cutting its houseguests off from the real world. Well, this season they broke that rule for a very important reason.

We all know about the lettuce situation going on, right? In case you don’t, shredded iceberg lettuce is linked to a multistate Cyclospora parasite outbreak causing severe, ugh back door issues. The parasite spreads via microscopic traces of feces in water or food supplies.

“Big Brother’s” first evictee of the season, Ashley Trail, took to TikTok where she revealed that production did intervene to tell the houseguests about what’s now nicknamed the “poopy lettuce.”

“I just want to clear some disputes and set the record straight,” Ashley started off her TikTok. “This current houseguest season of ‘Big Brother,’ we were actually, in fact, informed of the diarrhea cha cha cha bacterial bowel movements of the fruit, herbs, and/or lettuce.”

She continues, “Now, whether we chose yes or no to proceed in the eatery of it, it was fully up to us. And so, whenever I was chowing down on turkey, cheese, extra mayo sandwich. I, you know, did in fact hold the lettuce, I was like, “Man, this really sucks. I’m missing out on that crunch, that hydration that I really do quite enjoy.”

“However, as I’m making it, my fellow houseguests are like, ‘Girl, slather on that lettuce. It’s fine. Like, it’s fine. I’m eating it.’ Girl, you better not be eating it. We share a bathroom, a toilet up in there. I do not want to have to clench because you can’t do so.”

The long-running CBS reality show only has two bathrooms for the 17 houseguests that are competing.

Besides any family crises or deaths, the only other times that production intervened with the houseguests (in the US version of the show) were in season 2 when 9/11 happened and then once more in 2016 when Donald Trump won the election over Hillary Clinton (which was actually during the online version of the show, “Big Brother: Over The Top.”)
